TRIBUN-BALI.COM, DENPASAR - The ATC Ops Junior Manager Airnav Indonesia Denpasar, Cahyadi Widodo, said the two airports on the island of Lombok Selaparang airport and Lombok International Airport were closed until Saturday (07/11/2015) at 08:45 p.m.
"Based on leaders meeting, the two airports on the island of Lombok are extended the closure until tomorrow at 8:45 p.m.," said Cahyadi told Tribun Bali, on Friday (06/11/2015).
The closures caused by volcanic ash due to the eruption of Mount Barujari still covering much of the island.
Moreover, the wind direction is toward the south.
"Practically, the volcanic ash is going toward the south of the island. So it is still possible for flight activity at the two airports," he explained.
Bali so far is safe from volcanic ash of Mount Barujari.
However, the team will continue to monitor the progress toward the dust and air traffic at the airport.
