These things can damage your clothes and/or your washing machine. Second, place a pile of sorted clothes into the washer. Third, add detergent and softener in the right place. Find the correct compartment in the detergent drawer for the softener to be placed in - it's usually marked with a flower. Be sure to use the appropriate amount as indicated on the bottle for the type of washing you intend to do. Fourth, set the wash cycle, close the door, and press start. After washing, clothes can be hung on a line to dry or placed in a dryer.
